Thursday Challenge - Power

Imagine the amount of Power in that engine which will lift off that aircraft and fly it thousands of miles and the Power of that tractor which pulls/pushes that aircraft on ground!

  4. That's power for sure. How many tons of thrust? Never mind getting the thing off the ground -- but cruising at 400-500 knots once it gets up there!

But a question. If Indian Airlines was going to write their name in English on the planes anyway, why'd they use Hindi script to do it? Seems curious to me.

I wish I knew where the photos were I took of the charity "plane pull" I went to several years ago. Teams of 8 or 10 people took turns pulling an airliner by a rope for a specific distance. The team that did it quickest won the event. I forget all the details now (it's been too long), but I was amazed at how easily they got the plane moving. I guess those wheels don't have a lot of rolling resistance with the brakes not applied!

  17. It's not power.. It's done with mirrors. My late husband flew these things and that's what he told me. LOL
