There are so many beautiful old buildings toughing it out in Mumbai. They were a great and pleasing surprise to me when I first arrived here. I really like this one, where exactly in South Mumbai is it and what is it used for now?
It is adjacent to French bridge in Gamdevi. The Raut family lives there.
Well it's a beauty, I love buildings that show their age but then it's hard for even new buildings to stay looking that way in a damp climate so plenty of nice distressed things for me to see in Mumbai.
Great capture for the day!!
Thank you Sylvia
Nice pic of old rare building. But badly maintained !
Thank you, yes.
Old buildings are nice if well maintained!
Wooden stairs with a tiny look-out, and beautiful grill-work on windows and surely pretty ornate stuff to be found inside the house! Really love they way they enjoyed building their homes in the olden days.
Nice catch :)Would look a stunner if maintained properly I guess..
Thank you Anil
une belle photo de ce vieux batiment
Merci beaucoup Olivier

The history is written on its walls. Incredible powerful photo showing the times
Thank you James
Thank you Jidhu
Very impressive that such an old building is still standing. I'm thinking whoever had to carry, lift, and install those window air conditioners is also tough! My THURSDAY CHALLENGE.
:) so true too!
I like your response to the challenge. Fascinating looking old house. I grew up in a 1905 house - they don't make 'em like they used to.
Thank you Leora.
I think construction was much more durable back then!
It shows some wear, but still has a feeling of solidity to it. Nice!
A historic building with old world charm !!:)
This house holds a lot of history. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Pleasure to share Saru
coolMy Thursday Challenge
I like seeing those tough old buildings that often look like all that they have endured during their lifetime but are still standing strong.
This needs some TLC.
nice capture !
We don't know how to appreciate the durable and sturdy anymore--we are so into fashion, "new", "youth" that we forget how structures look when they survive the life challenges..lovely shot, Magic Eye
