Lovely old fountain and a great capture!!!
Thank you Sylvia
I should imagine then that this would have been a very different scene Deepak, they were pretty lucky to have such a decorative trough oui!
Right place to cool off then :) Nice one!
Thank you Meoww

Thank you Sushmita
So beautiful ... I especially love the calmness of the picture!
It's beautiful even after so many years:)
We used to have a lot of drinking fountains - for humans and for dogs. I imagine from the same era. Troughs for horses were less ornate(here, that is) and the ones which remain, I think, are older. We no longer need troughs for horses (here in England)and maybe not for dogs - but we could do with drinking fountains for people again.
I can imagine all the horses passing through here and some taking a drink at the fountain.
Hari OmNice shot - very evocative!
Hari OmThank you Yamini ji
They treated the horses quite nicely!
looks fascinating. great way to cool off.
hm, never thought of fountains as water troughs. I bet the fountains around here were used for that too.
its looking so peaceful but grand at the same time !!
i wonder why there is a roof...a fountain for the horses and rest stop for the horsemen perhaps?:p
Nice to see it still standing. I hope this trough has a long life. Does it still have water in it?Nice picture. :)
