The tablet sign on the bridge gives a brief history of the over a century old bridge that connects Mumbai to Greater Mumbai (suburbs). Click on the photo to zoom in and read.
It was initially constructed in 1843 and widened to provide a 100' wide road in the year 1941.

DeleteReckon it was built very solid back in the day - nice it is still around.
ReplyDeleteI look out on a 100-year-old bridge myself. I love these old structures and I'm happy to see them still living

ReplyDeleteGreat to see the history marked... if only it could tell tales! YAM xx
From the looks of it, it could use a cosmetic overhaul.
ReplyDeleteThat's on the cards.

DeleteMe gusta lo que se ve en la imagen y su placa ofreciendo un resumen de la historia del puente.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, even when zooming in, I can’t read the writing on the tablet sign on the bridge – it’s just too tiny on my screen. But I really like the weathered look of the sign and the bridge structure – such a historic feel! (Fingers crossed the bridge is still stable... 😅)
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Traude
