So much happening under the massive banyan tree at Sassoon docks. There is a small temple/chapel, street vendors of fish, people on their phones, customers checking out the fish on sale and so much more.

The Mithi River is a river on Salsette Island, the island of the city of Mumbai, India. It is a confluence of tail-water discharges of the Powai and Vihar lakes. A purple rumped sunbird visited me yesterday,
The purple-rumped sunbird is a sunbird endemic to the Indian Subcontinent. Like other sunbirds, they are small in size, feeding mainly on nectar but sometimes take insects, particularly when feeding young. They can hover for short durations but usually perch to suck nectar from flowers. Wikipedia

Her visit to the fish market at Sassoon docks was basketful. From my archives.
Khar subway that connects Khar east to west is well known in Mumbai suburbs as this place used to get flooded with the slightest rains. Fortunately since a few years now the Municipal Corporation has rectified the situation and it is not a frequent occurence now.
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a
Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of Ganesh to earth from Kailash Parvat
with his mother Goddess Parvati/Gauri. The festival is marked with the
installation of Ganesh clay idols privately in homes, or publicly on elaborate
