Thursday Challenge - clothes

The dress that the ladies are wearing in the picture is the 'salwar kameez' popularly known as the Punjabi dress. The top is called 'Kameez' and the bottom is called the 'salwar'. This is commonly worn by the women here for its comfort level while commuting and working.

  4. It's more commonly known here as Punjabi Suit to the other races, some of their colors are really awesome.

  6. I love this style of clothes. I have been to a few Punjabi social events in California and here in Seattle, and the clothes the women wear at them are so fantastically beautiful and look comfortable also. I like the idea of thin pants under a flowing short dress. Perfect.

  8. Your "Kameez" and the French "Chemise" are clearly related. I wonder who influenced who in that exchange...
