We don't have desilting (how do you say that in Hindi?) around here so much as we do beach renourishment. Lots and lots of that. You know I love your blog and all the wonderful pictures of the market!
We also have flooding problems here. That's a very interesting word you have this week. If not for your post, I would never know what "desilting" means.
I also joined ABC Wednesday! HERE is where you can see my "D" photo. Please drop by if you have some time. Thanks!
All the minerals in that silt would do my garden very well .. it's one of those jobs that goon in the background but must be so important over there.. great .d. post
j'ai un problème, je ne trouve pas la traduction de "Desilting" je pense que cela veut dire nettoyer. I have a problem, I can not find the translation of "Desilting" I think that means clean.
Interesting post and picture, too. You have taken a rather mundane subject (big machine raking mud) and turned it into something abstract and artful, with bands of light and dark, sky and water, nicely composed. You do indeed have a magic eye!
Thank you for your kind comments regarding my daughter getting her degree. I find this post very interesting as something similar to this is done in our boat harbor..
Yes, very interesting! I'm not organised enough to join ABC Wednesday, but I enjoy seeing how other people creatively interpret the letter of the week!
This is the only "Desilting" post I've seen so far, though one person did show us a dredge...but what I enjoy most of all is seeing a little bit of your far country....I am liking the international aspect of ABC Wednesday.

@olivier.. the french word for silt is limon so to desilt means to remove limon.. hope this helps.
ReplyDelete@pj.. there is no hindi word for desilting :(
@cabacurl.. the silt is washed in from the waste thrown into the sea and the river :(
ReplyDelete@MEDITERRANEAN KIWI .. no it does not dry up totally but it does thin down.
