About a 100kms from Mumbai are these Bhaja caves. Bhaja Caves are a group of 18 rock-cut caves dating back to 200 BC located at Karli, nearLonavala, Maharashtra. These caves are on a major trade route of the past that ran from the Arabian Sea eastward into the Deccan region, the division between North India and South India. ReplyDeleteVERY good choice for the theme! I've always been fascinated by the Ajanta cave temples, these look very similar. And probably not to far away. The whole notion of carving something like this out of a mountain by hand just amazes me. Brilliant choice and shot!
