I'm always amazed at just how BIG these guys get. We had one at the Natural History museum here for a long time (might have replaced him by now since his passing several years ago). I forget how much they said he weighed, but it was astonishing. Seems like he was about 40 feet long too. This is not an animal I want to run afoul of!
Its cobalt blue markings are amazing but don't try to get me to touch one, even for a moment. Shudder.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot and I, too, love the colors! Perfect critter!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, but I wouldn't want to touch one either.
ReplyDeleteA great photo! I always head to the reptile house at the zoos. They are fascinating.
