I find all these memorials, while fitting tributes, to be terribly sad. A testimony to the inability of the human race to come to grips with the fact we are all one family.
Oh wow. I just noticed the date. November 11 is Veterans Day here in the States. Was the Kargil War still ongoing when he was killed, or was this an insurgent action? Seems like Kargil was over before then, but perhaps not.
I guess in Kashmir, the war is never really "over" is it. How sad that a place can be at once so beautiful and so deadly.
