Brilliant shot! Using the tree to filter/partially screen the direct sun gave you detail in the foreground that you'd have lost if it hadn't been there. The backlighting would have been so strong everything would have been silhouetted. Which is a nice effect, but this way is much more interesting for this scene and all that's going on in it.
