MyWorld



In front of the shrine of Mount Mary in Bandra stands the oratory of Our Lady of Fatima built to commemorate the National Marian Congress held in Bombay in December 1954. It is also a fine specimen of archi­tecture with a round staircase on both sides with arches below and over a central arch a structure with four minarets and a central spire.

    There's an Our Lady of Fatima in my home town, Aligarh too... I to date was under the ignorant impression that it was only Aligarh bound.

    Fascinating piece of architecture. I rarely see Catholic churches with such a design. Reminds me of the Taj Mahal somehow.

    Such a beautiful church. There are so many special places in your part of the world. I really didn't see much when I was there since the wife of my host was on bed rest because of pregnancy complications and I really wanted to spend time with her.

    No matter where you go in Bombay, there'll always be wires running from left to right, ruining the photo!
