The Ballard Bunder Gate was once the formal entrance to the Ballard Pier railway station, from which the romantic Frontier Mail chugged out for its long trek to Peshawar. The gatehouse has now been developed into a museum, and it is a treasure trove of photographs about Bombay, it’s port, it’s people, and it’s railways, and the port railways! But it was closed as I was there too early and on a weekend.

Marvelous looking place! Terrific capture as always! Had to smile, the part of Seattle where I live was originally named Ballard and is still referred to by that name. Hope you can visit again later!
