Saturday Photohunt - Trees

Peltophorum pterocarpum (Copperpod, Golden Flamboyant, Yellow Flamboyant, Yellow Flame Tree, Yellow Poinciana, Radhachura in Bangla) is a species of Peltophorum, native to tropical southeastern Asia and a popularly ornamental tree grown around the world.
This tree is one of the many in Bandra (East), Mumbai.

  1. Lovely. Are these scented? The most memorable tree, or shrub, rather, that I recall in India was Lantana. For many, many years (10 or more), I had a blossom I had taken from the one outside my grandparents' house in Mumbai. I lost it... I don't even know when. It was pink and yellow. A heavenly scent.

  8. Love the yellow flowers...this reminds me of some bushes we have in our yard...which would probably grow into trees if they weren't trimmed.

  11. This tree hasn't flowered all that much. There are like a dozen trees around my place and they're like "WOWWW" when they flower entirely...

    Nice pic-- Never knew the tree's name, till now :D
