Not many single-screen movie houses left in this country...which is too bad, in my opinion. I'm not sure they are "paradise," though! ;-) Housefull looks like an interesting movie...have you seen it?
Aah, you make me so nostalgic. My dad was in film distribution business and as a child I often went to the theatres and asked the manager for a seat to watch the next show. That joy, that pleasure is gone with the multiplexes. Glad you captured history again before even this fades!
I'm fond of such realistic crude captures and not the photo-shopped ones..i was trying to read something written in hindi on the board in the picture..
Perfect capture for the P Day!!

DeletePerfect for this week's theme! Single cinema buildings are all gone here, replaced by multi-duplex theatre rooms in shopping malls.
ReplyDeleteune belle architecture a l'ancienne, j'aime bien ces cinemas
ReplyDeleteThose are a disappearing entity.. single screen theatres. I'm not sure that's a good thing. That film though would do good to disappear :-)

Good old world charm "Paradise". Considered outdated & out of synch with current styles - may soon become extinct !

i really like the red echoes in this image.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having multiplexes and e-booking tickets, but I miss the single-screen theaters like Plaza and Starcity. It's cognitive dissonance I guess!
ReplyDeleteHow nice, such an easy way to go to paradise, lol !

ReplyDeleteThe board has the name of the junction written on it - Karmayogi Dr.Arvind Bavdekar Chowk :) If you click on the pic you can see the enlarged version.
DeleteWe have a small cinema here called Paradiso Deepak, I really like it. Do you go to see movies here?
