There are so many beautiful old buildings toughing it out in Mumbai. They were a great and pleasing surprise to me when I first arrived here. I really like this one, where exactly in South Mumbai is it and what is it used for now?
Well it's a beauty, I love buildings that show their age but then it's hard for even new buildings to stay looking that way in a damp climate so plenty of nice distressed things for me to see in Mumbai.
Wooden stairs with a tiny look-out, and beautiful grill-work on windows and surely pretty ornate stuff to be found inside the house! Really love they way they enjoyed building their homes in the olden days.
Very impressive that such an old building is still standing. I'm thinking whoever had to carry, lift, and install those window air conditioners is also tough!
We don't know how to appreciate the durable and sturdy anymore--we are so into fashion, "new", "youth" that we forget how structures look when they survive the life challenges..lovely shot, Magic Eye

:) so true too!
DeleteI like your response to the challenge. Fascinating looking old house. I grew up in a 1905 house - they don't make 'em like they used to.
ReplyDeleteThank you Leora.
DeleteI think construction was much more durable back then!
ReplyDeleteIt shows some wear, but still has a feeling of solidity to it. Nice!

I like seeing those tough old buildings that often look like all that they have endured during their lifetime but are still standing strong.
