    1. That is really, well... interesting!
I think either you blog about it or I have to do some research as even The Simpsons have the subject India/cow....

    2. The cow is considered sacred in India. The origin of the GoMukh (Cow mouth) is explained at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gomukh .
Gomukh, also known as "Gaumukh" or "Gomukhi", is the terminus or snout of the Gangotri Glacier and the source of the Bhagirathi River, one of the primary headstreams of the Ganges River. Apparently the snout exactly looked like the "Mouth of a Cow."
As a result most of the drinking water fountains had a cow moth spouting as water is also considered a gift of God.

  5. Very pretty, and I'm glad it's still there, even if it is not working.

  7. It's a shame it doesn't work but I'm so glad it is still standing. I love seeing great samples of architecture like this.

Thanks for making 'My Corner of the World' a success this week!

  8. The drinking water fountain must be missing the hustle and bustle, chirps and whispers of thirsty souls of yester-years. Its stillness is captured so well in this photograph.
