Somewhere in the south of India (can't recall where) I glimpsed from a distance a banyan tree along the road. I wondered what those long bundles hanging from its branches were. The driver spoke little English, but somehow managed to gesture 'wings'. I wondered what kind of birds would hang like that. As we approached, I saw there were absolutely HUGE bats, much bigger than the one you show. What kind could they have been? Drop me a note on Facebook Messenger.

DeleteLove bats, esp in an enclosure where they very swiftly fly over your head and past your ears. You can feel them yet they do not touch you, magical.
