Doodhachi gaadi

The sign on the van in Devanagari script reads 'Milk van' while a plumber advertises on the bus.

  2. That Devanagari script looks very interesting. Is it a kind of Alphabet or more like Chinese.

    1. Alphabet: The Devanagari script has 48 letters: 34 consonants, 10 vowels, and 4 diphthongs.
Consonants: Most consonants have two forms: a "full" form and a "half" form.
Vowels: The Devanagari script uses three non-alphabetic symbols to modify the quality of a vowel.

  3. Cairo, 1989 (or such) - I wanted to go from Cairo to Alexandria and.... RAN back to the taxi driver for help. I could not read a word. Thankfully, too! He not only told me when and where the train departs (evening), he took us around after his shift, even to his home and wanted no money.
So sad internet was not there yet, I wonder what he´s doing now? Maybe 2 years older than me.
I wonder, too, how long it takes you to write? This is art to me. I´d sit an hour to copy that by hand! It´s beautiful, though!

    1. Writing it is pretty easy once you have the hang of it, it's phonetic.

  5. Traffic can be a pain. Nice explanation about the Devanagari script, thanks.

  6. It looks like they have either bumped into each other or they are trying to squeeze through the road past each other - excellent shot.
