Nihang

Spotted this Nihang outside the Visa facilitation office which acts as the liaison office for most of the countries.

Nihang is an order of Sikh warriors, characterised by blue robes, antiquated arms such as swords and spears, and decorated turbans surmounted by steel quoits. The order can be traced back to the creation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699, according to Sikh historian Dr Balwant Singh Dhillon.

Google+ celebrated World Photography Day at a special event in 'Tote on the Turf' at Mahalaxmi yesterday. The keynote address was delivered by Padmashree Raghu Rai - India's renowned photographer who spoke about his transition to the digital format and what photography meant to him. Was very interesting and educative listening to him. He emphasised the importance of a spiritual connect to achieve excellence in one's work.
