A male Asian koel on the peepal tree outside my balcony. Ref Wiki: The Asian koel is a large, long-tailed, cuckoo. It is a brood parasite that lays its eggs in the nests of crows and other hosts, who raise its young. They are unusual among the cuckoos in being largely frugivorous as adults. The male is glossy bluish-black, with a pale greenish grey bill, the iris is crimson, and it has grey legs and feet.
The
house crow, also known as the Indian, greynecked, Ceylon or Colombo crow, is a
common bird of the crow family that is of Asian origin but now found in many
parts of the world, where they arrived assisted by shipping. This one has made
his home on this Peepal (Ficus religiosa) tree in Bandra east.
