Walking - sometimes faster than travelling by motorized vehicles. This is on a holiday when there are lesser people commuting, on the station road in Santacruz (East).
I hope your trip "in country" was enjoyable! Missed you!
Funny, the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo was about my first few times out in Mumbai in 1968. I thought "There must be a lot of fights or something!"
I saw blots of what I thought were blood all over the pavements. Of course, it was betel nut juice, spat out by paan chewers.
The second thing was the sound of the little green parrots over the traffic sounds!
From all I've ever heard walking is often a quicker way to get around in some parts of the city. Doesn't look too awfully bad on this day though. I might opt for an auto if I needed to get somewhere.

Really great, interesting shot! Always fun to visit your part of the world!
ReplyDeleteVery good picture to capture the walking theme.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there is no sidewalk. It must be scary to share the road with cars.
@james.. the sidewalk is occupied by hawkers!
ReplyDeleteMost interesting again! A lot of people out walking. I imagine most are shopping, too.
ReplyDeletelove to be there, i am linking you on my blog.
ReplyDeletemumbai must be really sultry now.. !! but the pic looks a lot more cooler !
ReplyDeleteRight you are, Magiceye. Like the tortoise and hare, it's amazing how walkers show up at the finish line first. Fine post!
ReplyDeleteJust like in my country, people prefer to be out of the house on holidays. And lesser vehicles on a long holiday.
ReplyDeleteSeems very pleasant, relaxed.
ReplyDeleteSo many people. I can see why walking is the preferred mode of transportation.
ReplyDeletewalking is a great way to see 'street life'
ReplyDeleteNice shot, but it looks so busy! Ugh!
ReplyDeleteMine is up. I hope you have time to check it out.

Happy weekend!
Looks like a day for a flea market or streetside vendors. Lots of walking to see everything.
