Saturday Photohunt - Walking

Walking - sometimes faster than travelling by motorized vehicles. This is on a holiday when there are lesser people commuting, on the station road in Santacruz (East).

  2. Very good picture to capture the walking theme.
It looks like there is no sidewalk. It must be scary to share the road with cars.

  7. Right you are, Magiceye. Like the tortoise and hare, it's amazing how walkers show up at the finish line first. Fine post!

  8. Just like in my country, people prefer to be out of the house on holidays. And lesser vehicles on a long holiday.

  10. So many people. I can see why walking is the preferred mode of transportation.

  13. Looks like a day for a flea market or streetside vendors. Lots of walking to see everything.

  14. I hope your trip "in country" was enjoyable! Missed you!

Funny, the first thing I thought of when I saw your photo was about my first few times out in Mumbai in 1968. I thought "There must be a lot of fights or something!"

I saw blots of what I thought were blood all over the pavements. Of course, it was betel nut juice, spat out by paan chewers.

The second thing was the sound of the little green parrots over the traffic sounds!

  17. From all I've ever heard walking is often a quicker way to get around in some parts of the city. Doesn't look too awfully bad on this day though. I might opt for an auto if I needed to get somewhere.
