An amazing and great photo of a very interesting little bug. I'm afraid I don't have a clue as to what it is but I have enjoyed this photo very much. Hope someone can identify it for you.
Hard to distinguish without seeing the markings on the wings .. but it reminds me of a Miller moth, they like nesting in trees and occasionally finding their way into our apartment where the cats love trying to catch and eat it
What a perfect shot! Did you ask him to pose for you? He is an ugly little bugger, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteBug as it is, but a great candid shot.
ReplyDeleteHard to tell without seeing the wings flat out. Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteMine is 2 for one, this week, Camera Critters and PhotoHunter
What a masterful shot!!

ReplyDeleteFantastic shot - my jaw dropped when I saw this!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a little plane ready to take off. :)
The bug looks creepy but the way you managed getting this pic is admirable!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

Excellent photo. Nice eyes :)
ReplyDeleteI can not help with the id but it is a great photo. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMoths are food for bats over here but maybe not this one.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he is waiting for a signal from air traffic control so he can take off!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.
Wow, what a capture you have here!
ReplyDeletehe is smiling at you!

ReplyDeleteWhat a striking face it has!
ReplyDelete"Hey, why are you taking my picture?" asked the moth.
ReplyDelete"Because you're so cute," said Magiceye.
"I'm not cute," said the Moth. "I'm a Mumbai mumblebee."
"You are not!" responded Magiceye. "I've never heard of such a thing! You're not even a Mumbai bumblebee. You're just a moth!"
"Do you love me?" asked the moth.
"Of course," said Magiceye.
"So, take my picture already. Then I'll follow you home."
Magiceye took the picture and here it is.
Very nice indeed, for a Mumbai mumblebee!
Cool capture! He's not the cutest thing I've ever seen; but he's not the ugliest either.

sorry can't say anything about it but its just lovely that you could get such an amazing shot with out it running or flying away.
ReplyDeleteWow, at first, I thought that was something made from paper or something! What an awesome critter photo! I like your SKyWatch photo, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my SkyWatch post.
Sylvia K said it all!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture!
ReplyDeleteExcellent macro photo! Love it. Its perfect.
ReplyDeleteI half expect a tiny little pilot to climb aboard and fly him away.
ReplyDeleteAwesome macro work! I can almost never get insects to sit still long enough for a shot like this.
ReplyDeleteWhat a masterful shot!!
