Sarvajanik Ganesha
Sarvajanik (of the people, by the people and for the people) Ganesha in Bandra east. Locals have contributed towards the festivities including the cost of the idol. This happens all over Mumbai. It was started by Lokmanya Tilak in the 1890s as a means to unite people and mobilise them for the Indian Freedom struggle.

Our world
Yesterday was Ganesh Chaturthi - a day when varying sized idols of Lord Ganesha (elephant headed God) were brought home and in community spaces for a celebration ranging from one to ten days and cries of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' rent the air in Mumbai.
